Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) or Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in Mexico has a prevalence of 140,000 people, of which approximately 65,000 have to undergo peritoneal dialysis (PD) a replacement therapy, all these according to the Fundación Mexicana del Riñón A.C., in 2010. Nursing cares that are given to the catheter, by the same patient and family, can guarantee a healthy exit site and avoid complications of infectious type, such as peritonitis, which affect the quality of the substitution therapy and the well-being of the person. , nursing care is addressed to the peritoneal dialysis catheter, as well as the risk factors of infectious complications and care of the exit site in the home.
Objetivo:
Reconocer las medidas preventivas y el cuidado del catéter de diálisis peritoneal, a partir de las técnicas de instalación, signos y síntomas de alarma, para la detección oportuna de las alteraciones o disfunción de éste.
