Through this lesson, you will appropriately produce your ideas, using the conjunctions correctly “by” and “when” to talk about future moments logically.
By the end of this topic, you will:
Appropriately generate ideas through the conjunctions to describe specific situations in the future in a logical way.
We use when as a conjunction meaning ‘at the time that’. The clause with when is subordinate (sc) and needs the main clause (mc) to complete its meaning. If the when-clause comes before the main clause, we use a comma. (Cambridge University Press, 2017) If we have the opposite order, the comma is not necessary since the difference is made by the word “when”.

We use by the time, meaning ‘when’, to connect an action that has happened or will have happened before a second action. The action that occurred second comes after by the time.
Activity 1
